Welcome to the Blog

Welcome to our blog!

Well what an amazing start to the 2024/25 season. We started the season with a children's meet in Worcestershire. The first one for the Farmers Bloodhounds. We had a wonderful turn out, confident young jockeys jumping a course kindly laid on by our hosts. Lots of young people spotted as future Bloodhounders for sure!

September saw the introduction of new meets, Phipps Feeds & Himbleton Manor. The hosts and local land owners made us feel welcome as we got to ride over stunning new countryside. New locations brought out new riders with their lovely horses and families.

Bloodhounds

This season saw the introduction of a new pack of bloodhounds. A younger pack carefully introduced under the skillfull eye of Huntsman Oscar Wood.

The pack had been due to make their debut at Ragley Hall however a virus has enforced a period of quarantine for our lovely hounds. This meet will be rescheduled when hounds are present with wagging tails and shiny coats!

There are some new characters for you to follow, Foreman (the biggest dog hound), Bisto (known for his cuddles) & Benson to name a few.

The Farmers Bloodhounds Team

This year sees the introduction of some new field masters. Kate Dodd & Emma Spencer will be leading the way across some wonderful new country, both very experienced horse women with years of bloodhounding experience. For our Worcestershire meet this year we are delighted to welcome Ade Ward. Ade is local to the area, an impressive jockey and skilled hunter ready to take mounted field over the wonderful Peopleton hedges.

We are delighted to welcome Emily Beaty & Ellie Carvell into the team as second field masters, supporting those that wish to take the alternative jumping options or gateways. I think we will hear the second field giggling and whooping as you enjoy their company and patience if you fancy trying some smaller jumps.

The Farmers Bloodhounds Hunt Supporters

We now have our own hunt supporters group. This has proven to be very popular and we hear lots of exciting activities are being arranged. So far the group have been a wondreful help filling in on the gate and bringing delicious cakes to the meets. If you would like to join them drop me a message and I will pass your number on.

Our hunt rides will continue and we will continue to build our fitness and pace with rides increasing in length and jumps as normal. The hounds will soon be out with us!

For now lets kick on, keep shining our tack, polishing our boots and aiming for those hedges

Love

Emma
